Want to throw a party for a few friends? For a lot of friends? Well throw a party with a purpose! Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry (NOVAM) is in need of volunteers to host parties for our annual fundraising event, IMAGINE. During the month of April, over 40 people will host fundraising parties throughout the DC metro region.
NOVAM’s IMAGINE event allows friends and families to join together in an effort to raise funds and awareness for NOVAM and its mission. It brings together people who are aware of the importance of the fight against HIV/AIDS in Northern Virginia. NOVAM’s HIV prevention education programs reach over 9,000 young people each year. We provide direct support services to over 600 families infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
What you do is up to you! Hosts have the entire month of April to throw an event of their choosing. Hosts have had backyard BBQs, cocktail parties, sit down dinners, and brunches in venues from homes, to churches, to restaurants. When you decide to host a party, all you need to do is to invite friends, solicit and gather donations, and promote the online auction that will be going on at the same time. NOVAM will be with you every step of the way by providing host support materials, including invitations. Hosts are responsible for the cost of their party, but the money spent is tax-deductible.
